Mera Peak is consider as one of the high trekking peak in Nepal. The central Mera peak is 6,461m and the North Mera is 6,476m. Normally, people climb central Mera Peak. It is situated at the edge of Khumbu region of Nepal which is dominated by world famous mount Everest.The journey to Mera peak starts after 35 minutes of mountain flight to Lukla (Tenzing Hillary Airport) and the adventure trek passes through beautiful Valleys of the Everest region, Hinku Valley of Nepal and finally ultimately reaches to its climax the summit of Mera Peak 6,461m. The views from the top of Mera peak rewards us the spectacular fresco of eight thousanders ( Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, Cho Oyu and many more peaks. There two trail to make our climbing trip to Mera peak so, our valuable guest can consult with the S.N. Himalaya staffs before proceeding.The expert staffs at S.N. Itinerary 1

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu 1,350m/4,428ft and transfer to hotel B/B plan

Day 2: Sightseeing and preparation day.

Today, sightseeing to the world listed heritage site Pasupatinath, the Hindu temple, Boudhanath stupa, the world largest Buddhist shrine stupa and Swayambunath, the monkey temple. In the evening discussion  about the Mera Peak further trek and peak climbing program.

Day 3: Fly Lukla 2,752m/9,027ft  and trek to Paiya ( Chutok) 2,730m/8,955ft 4/5 hrs

After 35 minutes of mountain flight we arrive Lukla and meet our staffs. We trek down to Surke valley, after a cup of tea/coffee we gradually climb through the beautiful forest and reach Pakhepani from where the view is fantastic. After short break we start Nepali flat walk to Paiya village for night stop.

Day 4: Paiya to Pangom 2,850m/9,348ft 7/8 hrs

After good breakfast we head off through the beautiful forest until we get on top of Kari la hill with the open views of the 2 side of the valley. The view is fascinating and we will be passing few villages, lush grassland, thick rhododendron forest  45 minutes slight climb will finally take us to the popular Pangom village

Day 5: Pangom to Najing dinma 2,600m/8,528ft 6/7 hrs

The climb through the thick rhododendron and pine forest will take us to Pangom la. From here we can see south face of Mera with its twin peaks and Naulekh. We now make scenic gradual descend down to Hinku Khola and cross the bridge. Again steep climb on the opposite side will leads to nazing Dingma 2,600m/8,528ft for night stop.

Day 6: Najing Dingma to Chelem Kharka 3,600m/11,808ft 6/7 hrs

We slowly climb through the Yak pasture land and the green forest slowly steepens our way up to Surke la before we stop for a cup of warm tea/coffee. We further continue walk to Chelem Kharka in between the rhododendron forest.

Day 7: Chelem Kharka to Khola Kharka 3,173m/10407ft 6/7hrs

Again climb through the side of a ridge, the last Rhododendron forest end and the rugged terrain appear. We come across the high altitude grazing ground and cross small pass to get the views of kanchejunga 8,586m and Jannu mountain to the further east. We stiil climb and cross Danda kharka to reach Khola Kharka.

Day 8: Khola Kharka to Kothe3,600m/11,808ft 6/7 hrs

Today we come across Panch pokari and enter Hinku Valley before making series of steep descend through the rhododendron forest and cross wooden bridge on Hinku river on the west bank then arrive Kothe 3,550m/11,644ft where there is many lodges.

Day 9: Kothe to Tangnag 4,350m/14,268ft 4/5 hrs

We will be doing a short trek today on the shadow of Mera Peak and on the side of Hinku khola. We will have good lunch at Gondisung. This place is the summer herders settlement in the west bank of Hinku Drangka and beyond Gongdisung we pass 200 years old Lungsungba Gomba where we can see Mera peak script on the rock along with the way to reach mera. We pray for our successful journey toMera Peak and head off to Thangnag primitive yak grazing area.

Day 10: Acclimatization day at Thangnag/ Day hike to Charpate Himal glacier area

Today if anybody interested we can make 3 hrs walk to Charpate himal glacier to observe close view of North Mera and return to Thangnag.

Day 11: Thangnag to Khare 5,045m/16,548ft 3/4 hrs

We follow the moraine trail of Dig glacier to Dig Kharka to have the views of Charpate Himal which is secret Sherpa mountain. We again head off through Hinku Nup and Shar Glacier then climb steep to arrive Khare. The views of Mera North face in front of our window will make our journey worth.

Day 12: Khare Rest day

Training of using climbing gear from our climbing guide, Check all the equipment.

Day 13: Khare to Mera Base camp 5,300m/17,384ft 3/4 hrs

Today we will have good breakfast and walk through the boulder course to reach Mera base camp. After having lunch we slowly start our ice climbing training from our climbing guide for about 2/3 hrs then rest for the best views.

Day 14: Mera base camp to High Camp 5,780m/18,958ft 4/5 hrs

After the breakfast we walk through Mera La to reach Mera High camp.We have to walk through the rocky Stretch for about 2 hrs to reach Mera high Camp. This area will be little harder if there is recent snowfall because there are number of crevasses. The views we get are Mt Everest, Makalu,Cho oyu, South face of Lhotse, Nuptse, baruntse, chamlang etc.

Day 15: Mera high camp to Summit push 6,461m/21,192ft and back Khare 9/10 hrs

The tremendous day begin. Early 1 am breakfast/tea and we need to put on Crampons and rope then start our journey towards summit. If the clients are well acclimatize then we can reach Mera central summit in 4/6 hrs. Capture good views of Mt Everest 8,848m, Cho Oyu 8,201m, Khotse 8,516m, Makalu 8,464m,Kanchenjunga 8,586m,Nuptse 7,855m, Chamlang 7,319m, Baruntse 7,129m, Ama Dablam 6,814m, Kang tenga 6,779m and many more peaks are seen from the top.After the summit we slowly descend down to high camp and follow the trial back to khare. The summit success will definitely bring some joys.

Day 16: Khare to kothe 6/7 hrs

Day 17: Kothe to Chetra 6/7 hrs

Day 18: Chetra to Chutanga 6/7 hrs

Day 19: Chutanga to Lukla 2 hrs

Day 20: Fly back to KTM (Whole day relax/evening do some shopping for souvenir to take home) Evening dinner in a restaurant from the S.N. Himalaya company.

Day 21: Final Departure

Leaving Lukla behind we pass PLNN hospital, walk through the beautiful forest and reach Bom village. Slightly gentle climb and crossing suspension bridge we will be able to see giant mountain in front of us. If we turn towards north side we can see the best views of Numbur Himal,Dudhkunda himal, Kongde Peak etc.

Day 4: Chutanga to Kharkiteng 4,000m/13,120ft 2/3 hrs

Today we are climbing about 2/3 hours of walk through the forest and stop in Kharkiteng. From Lukla it is gradually climbing so today we make shorter day walk to get well acclimatize our self with the local environment.We will enjoy a good views from here too.

Day 5: Kharkiteng to Chetra height 4,580m/15,022ft 4/5 hrs

We will be climbing gradually till we cross Chetrala pass.We will enjoy the great views of Mt Khumbilla, Mt Cho Oyu 8,201m, Kongde peak,etc. We now descend 10 minutes to Chetra for night stop at tea house lodge.

Day 6: Chetra to Kothe3,600m/11,808ft 4/5 hrs

Today we will be walking through the rhododendron and pine forest with the fantastic views of Mera peak, Naulekh, panch pokhari himal and lunch at Kothe stay overnight.

Day 7: Kothe to Tangnag height4,350m/14,268ft 4/5 hrs

We advise you to obtain trekking gear and equipment before your trekking in Nepal most of them you can get in Kathmandu on rental basis or purchase from. Our staff will assist you to solve the problem. It is to make our valuable guest feel comfortable in a range of expected weather conditions. Except your small day pack all the luggage is carried by the porter. The domestic flight will allow you to have 15 kg baggage which include day pack extra luggage we can store in a hotel where you live.
