This is one of the most beautiful trekking destination in Nepal where very few people visit due to lack of information.The area lies towards the east of Annapurna Base camp.The trail to Mardi Himal is small but beautiful that lead through the enchanted Rhododendrun forest and finally we reach 3,300m. The views of giant Mardi Himal, Machapuchre (Fish Tail), Annapurna South and Himchuli definitely make us forget our tiredness.

There are simple guest houses and home stay facility on the way from High Camp 3,700m to Mardi Himal base camp. It will be about 3 to 4 hours walking journey to the Mardi Himal base camp which provides us fantastic views of the Annapurna mountain ranges.The best time to trek here is September to November in Autumn and March to May in the Spring season.

We can take domestic flight from Kathmandu TIA airport to Pokhara or get tourist bus to Pokhara then we make the best trip plan.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel with B/B plan (bed and breakfast)
Day 2: Fly or Drive to Pokhara (25 minutes flight or 7/8 hours drive )
Day 3: Drive kande and trek to Deurali 2,200 m (4/5 hours journey)
After the breakfast we drive to Kande by bus/jeep/car as per client’s requirement and the walking trek begins from the elvation of 1770m. We climb 1 hours 30 minutes to Australian camp 2,100m. The first day trek will be gradual walking through Pothana village and finally stop first night at Deurali 2,200m (TEA HOUSE) lodge.
Day 4: Trek to Low Camp 2,900m ( 7 hours journey)
We leave Annapurna Base camp trail and turn right to continue our walking journey through the thick forest of Oak, Maple, Hemlock and Rhododendrun forest for about 4 hours where we stop for our lunch at ‘Kokar’ also known as Forest camp. The more we ascend we begin to see the trees covered by moss, lichen and tree ferns etc finally reach at the low camp where we find 4 lodges.
Day 5: Trek to high Camp 3,150m (5/6 hours journey)
1 hour 30 minutes climbing through the Rhododendrun forest we reach Middle camp and to Badal Danda. The views from this place is amazing (Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Gangapurna, Machapuchre) and giant Mardi Himal stand like a majestic. We can see Annapurna South and Himchuli towars the west side and walking trail continue along the Mardi Himal ridge mainly walking through the hairy brown grass and isolated Rhododendrun trees. We can get an opportunity to see colourful Danfe (National bird of Nepal) and Pheasant bird along the trail.The lodge at High camp has beautiful 8 rooms that provide good views of Annapurna South, Himchuli and Machapuchare (Fishtail) mountains.
Day 6: Excursion to Mardi himal base camp 4,500m (5/6 journey)
Today wake up early in the morning for the Sunrise views. After early breakfast we walk towards the ridges.The trail is properly built through the grass, some steeper section but not danger zone at all,There might be Yak herd grazing, also Danfe and Pheasant birds. In the summer this places will be full of goats and sheeps that are brought by local for grazing that is why we will see number of herder’s huts along the way to the Base Camp. Finally, we will be at Mardi Himal base camp at 4,500m from where we will have spectacular views of Annapurna sanctuary mountain ranges.
Day 7: Trek to Siding Village 1,750m (6/7 hour journey)
We use different route to get Siding village where we spend 1 night at Homestay and eat Nepalese Dhal bhat. It will be nice to learn Nepalese way of living and culture.
Day 8: Trek to Lumre and drive Pokhara (3 hours walk and 2 hours of drive)
From Siding we walk to Lumre where our bus/jeep will be waiting for us. We will find mostly Bramin people in Lumre where as Siding and Ghale villages has Bramin and Gurung people.
Day 9: Fly or drive back to Kathmandu and shopping.
Day 10: Final departure
